We see the world not as it is, but as we are.

We often take for granted that what we experience through our senses is the full spectrum of reality. We wake, walk, feel, hear, see, taste—and assume we are engaging with the entire world around us. But this assumption is not only incomplete—it’s dangerously misleading. In truth, the human sensory experience is limited to a tiny fraction of what truly exists.

We are, for lack of better words, blind to the majority of the universe.
 
The Numbers Don’t Lie

Science tells us that visible light—what we see with our eyes—exists only between 430 to 790 terahertz (THz). That’s less than a sliver of the full electromagnetic spectrum, which includes gamma rays, X-rays, ultraviolet (UV), infrared, microwaves, and radio waves—all completely invisible to the naked eye.

The same limitation applies to sound. Humans can only hear vibrations between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz. Meanwhile, whales, elephants, and even machines communicate and function on frequencies both below and above that narrow band.

And then there’s dark matter, which according to astrophysicists, makes up approximately 85% of the matter in the universe—yet we’ve never directly seen or touched it. It does not emit, reflect, or absorb light. It’s there, but only detectable through gravitational effects.

In simple terms: We experience less than 5% of reality.

• Particle colliders like the Large Hadron Collider attempt to uncover the quantum particles that build space-time itself.

And still, we are only scratching the surface.
These tools are the equivalent of pinholes in a colossal wall—brief peeks into an infinite mystery.
 
The Multisensory Universe

Many animals perceive far beyond human limits:

• Bees see ultraviolet light.
• Snakes detect infrared heat.
• Dolphins and bats use echolocation, hearing spatial shapes in sound.
• Birds navigate using the Earth’s magnetic field.

Isn’t it strange to think: these creatures live in the same world we do—but experience an entirely different universe?
